It literally means " having full control of one's mind " i.e being mentally sound and sane. A party engaging in any transaction must be found to be of sound mind as at the time of entering into the transaction for it to be held as binding in the court of law. The essence of the requirement of soundness of mind is so that the court can know if the party understands the nature of what he is doing and if he really intended to do so. THE RADIANT JUSTICE CHAMBERS, OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY  LEGAL NUGGETS⚖️   SUMMARY JUDGEMENT  ¶ Summary judgment is given when there is no dispute as to the material facts of the case and a party is entitled to judgement as a matter of law.  ¶ The purpose of a summary judgment is to avoid unnecessary trials.  Moreover, it may simplify a trial. Any party may move for summary judgment. It is also not unusual for both parties to do so.   ¶ In summary, the criterias for getting a summary judgment includes:  i. The absence of a genuine issue regarding the material facts and  ii.
